THE PRAIRIE KITCHEN

The Prairie Kitchen is our commercial-grade culinary teaching facility and licensed restaurant. It has been designed to serve a variety of purposes, including nutrition and culinary education, community meals, and as a shared kitchen for commercial food production. It’s home to our Kitchen-to-Table food recovery program that diverts food from the landfill and repackages it for distribution.

The kitchen is licensed to allow for flexibility in how it can be used, and a state-certified food manager oversees all operations to ensure high standards in food safety and handling practices.

Community Meals

Everyone is invited to join us in the Kasieta Center for a free meal on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 11:30a – 12:45p. The Community Meal encourages a more cohesive and resilient community.

Kitchen-to-Table food Recovery

We collect perishable and non-perishable foods that were prepared for the public but never served. Through the Prairie Kitchen, we recover as much food as possible and distribute it to the greatest number of people.
