The pandemic was hard on families. Inflation is causing even more hardship. Many people facing food insecurity are forced to make tough choices between buying food and paying for rent, medication, or gas to drive to work. We serve anyone in Dane County needing food assistance. This year, we will provide food to to feed more than 80,000 individuals.

Financial Contribution

When you give, you want your donation to make a difference. At Badger Prairie Needs Network your gift has real impact because we are entirely volunteer-led and operated. That means every dollar you donate goes directly to our mission and feeding people.

A financial contribution is one of the best ways to help. We can leverage the buying power of cash donations through bulk purchasing with local retailers and food banks. For just $150, we can stretch that amount to supply enough ingredients to feed a family for 3 months. With your generous donations now and into the future, we can offer healthy food and poverty-fighting programs that help children, families, seniors, employees, and neighbors in your community.

Who We Help

Most of the households we support have someone working. Many have two jobs, but they simply don't earn enough to make ends meet. The rest are individuals with disabilities, senior citizens on fixed incomes, and those who have fallen on tough times or are temporarily unemployed. Over 34% of those we helped feed last year were children.

Monthly Contributions
A monthly contribution is an easy way to make sure the gift has a reliable and lasting impact on fighting food insecurity.

  • $150 per month feed a family for 3 months

  • $250 per month pays the expenses for our food recovery vehicles

Tribute Gifts
Donate in honor or memory of someone special to you.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage charitable giving among their employees. Contact your HR department to see if your company has a program that can increase the impact of your donation. 

IRA Distributions
If you are over 70½ years old and must take a Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA, consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to BPNN. Talk to your financial institution to learn more. 

Planned Gifts
For many donors, a long-term commitment is a perfect way to support hunger relief. Your attorney or financial advisor can guide you in the best way to structure planned giving for your particular circumstances. 

Facebook Fundraisers
Social media fundraisers for birthdays and other events have raised thousands of dollars for BPNN. It’s easy to set up on your Facebook page and share with your social network. If you need help creating one, email communications@bpnn.org and we'll walk you through it.
